Ocean Grove Historic District Walking Tour

Ocean Grove was founded in 1869 as an outgrowth of the camp meeting movement in the U.S.  It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  During the 90 minute tour, we will visit the Historical Society Museum, auditorium Square, and the Great Auditorium, the Tent colony, and Beersheba Well, where Carrie Nation gave her famous Ocen Grove Temperance Lecture on August 20, 1904.  It is a 9 to 10 block walk around the historic area adjacent to the Great Auditorium.  we will stop for lunch on Main Street before the one o'clock tour.

Cleopatra: the Search for the last queen of Egypt

The world of Cleopatra which has been lost to the sea and sand for nearly 2,000 years, has surfaced in this exhibition at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Remnants of her rule will be woven into the story of the modern-day search for her complete history and her tomb, in a dramatic setting that will incorporate high-definition multimedia and original soundscapes.  A four minute movie opens the exhibition.  The audio tour is narrated by the "voice of Cleopatra."

 

Our tour begins at 10:30 a.m.  We will have a light lunch on site.

Wellness Walks/Wellness Talks at the Grounds for Sculpture

A wellness program for those who want to get in shape, enjoy the natural beauty of Grounds for Sculpture and learn how to live an active, healthier life.  The walk begins at 9:30 a.m.m and the talk, "Bone Health Across the Life Span" begins at 10:15 a.m.  Healthful refreshments will be available at the talk.
