The Great Community Initiative
Working with groups of residents and staff, Meadow Lakes versatile chaplain, Chaplain Robin Bacon Hoffman, designed The Great Community Project. Members of the survey groups identified features of Meadow Lakes that make this a valued and valuable community. The pictures that follow describe the community and tell us what residents in the groups think is important, give information about what residents find special about Meadow Lakes, and describe what residents value in staff.
Residents in the focus groups were surveyed with specific questions about Meadow Lakes and the people who contribute to their well-being. The percentages represent the proportion of responses that relate to a value or to a particular area of community life. For example, residents were asked to think about a top-notch staff member and to list important qualities that made that person a "dynamite employee." Tabulating the responses, 29 percent fell into the grouping of "Caring, Kind, Friendly, Loving."
